The current and future outlook for transportation improvements in Solano County will be updated April 23 in Fairfield. The event is held by the Solano Economic Development Corporation and will feature local transportation officials.
Daryl Halls, executive director of Solano Transportation Authority (STA), County Supervisor Jim Spering, chair of the STA; and Michael Ammann, Solano EDC president, will serve on the panel.
Ammann said the transportation needs of Solano County are critical, and vital to the economic future of the county.
"We are growing, and so is the entire region,” Ammann said. “Our freeways and highways are thoroughfares to two of the world’s largest centers, Sacramento and the Bay Area. We all must collaborate and work toward public awareness and acceptance that our transportation needs must be served.”
“With the recent economic crisis and state budget cuts to transportation,” said Supervisor Spering, “it is imperative that we in Solano County discover even more innovative ways to deliver travel safety and mobility.”
The event is sponsored by Congresswoman Ellen O. Tauscher, and CSI Career College.
The event will be held at 7:30 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 1350 Holiday Lane, Fairfield. Cost is $25 for Solano EDC members and $35 for non-members. For information call 707 864-1855.
The monthly breakfast series is underwritten by the EDC circle members: Touro University, Solano Garbage Company and Potrero Hills Landfill.
