National Chamber Official Addresses Upcoming Election Issues and What’s Ahead

What are the effects of the current economic downturn and the upcoming election? Make your reservations to attend a review by a national Chamber of Commerce executive at the monthly Solano Economic Development Corporation (EDC) meeting co-hosted with the Benicia, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Vacaville, and Vallejo Chambers of Commerce.

Dick Castner, Executive Director for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Western Region, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Mr. Castner will brief attendees about the upcoming election and what affect it will have on local business. The local chambers work closely with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on business issues and lobbying efforts. Current and future aspects of the economy and what recent national actions will have on business and local communities will be discussed.

The event will be held at 7:30 a.m., Oct. 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield. Cost is $25 per person and reservations may be made by calling 707 864-1855.

“This is expected to be a highly attended event,” Michael Ammann, president of Solano EDC said. “The current economic picture and upcoming elections make this appearance a very timely one for both business and government officials.”

Annually Solano EDC joins with the Chambers to create timely breakfast covering the Federal and State election issues for all of their members. Participating Chambers in this event are: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield-Suisun, Rio Vista, Vacaville and Vallejo.
